Hmm...I can't wait to read the mail I receive from this...But, I believe Obama IS playing the race card. I think Obama and his staff have played the race card effectively since South Carolina. They very deftly dropped that particular hot potato on Bill Clinton's lap and for some reason, Clinton picked it right up. Man, did it burn. I think Obama has effectively taken what could have been viewed as a negative and turned it quite positive. I also think there is some truth to Geraldine Ferraro's comments. Race has helped Obama in this particular struggle for the White House. His unique position in history has merited him much political coverage and a hands off approach (hard questions) from the media. In fact, MSNBC has been his personal press core for quite some time. The news media has attempted to thwart every mistruth, minimize his missteps, and basically pave his way to the White House. Here's a question, why?
Obama's comments about other's using his name and color to engender fear actually isn't new. There have been very few new speeches since the nominations from either camp. Unfortunately for McCain, this also will not help him get any closer to the White House.
